The Children’s Museum of Houston is one of the city’s most popular places for kids. This museum has a lot of child friendly activities for families during the holiday season. On New Year’s Eve in 2018, there will be a Rockin New Years Noon party. This party will last from 10 a.m. To 3 p.m. It will take place on December 31 at the museum which is located at 1500 Binz Street.

 

2. Houston Zoo Lights

Houston Zoo Lights can be a fun filled time for families. This event offers plenty to do for kids during New Year’s Eve. The zoo is open all day on New Year Eve. At 6 o’clock in the evening the zoo will be lit up with a vast amount of Christmas lights. Visitors will be able to move around the park all night long while viewing animals. Visitors will then be able to bring in the New Year with their animal friends when the clock strikes 12 a.m. The Houston Zoo is located at 6200 Hermann Park Drive.

 

3. Downtown Aquarium Houston

Every year the Downtown Aquarium in Houston sponsors a New Year’s Eve event. An entertaining show is presented to kids every year and it never uses the same characters. Families will have to make reservations to attend. Once they arrive for this New Year’s Eve social affair, they can then enjoy the night filled with live music, lots of games and attractions and New Year’s Eve ball drop. It also offers golf courses, aquariums, a rain forest area and 3D theater. Moody Gardens typically has a New Year’s Eve party celebration that is called Festival of Lights. Families can bring in the New Years at Moody Gardens while enjoying the many great activities the park area has to offer.

New Year’s Eve on the Square takes place at Sugar Land Town Square. This event will feature live entertainment, street performers, kid friendly music and lots of arts and crafts. The evening will end with a big fireworks display which will bring in the New Year.

CityCenter is an entertainment area that is located in Houston’s Memorial City Neighborhood. Every year CityCenter sponsors a lively New Year’s Eve event. They have a kid’s Countdown to Noon that starts at 11 am and ends at 1 pm. Guests can also return back to the venue at 9:30 pm for the main New Year’s Eve celebration. There will be live music, lots of activities and a mini fireworks show to officially bring in the New Year.

The North Channel Branch Library can be found at 15741 Wallisville Rd. This particular library branch within Harris County will sponsor a Crazy New Year’s Hat Craft for kids and families. Other branches within the Harris County library system will also host New Year’s related events as well. The Collier Regional Library is going to have a New Year’s Eve Bash that will last from 11 a.m. To 12 p.m. The Collier branch is located at 6200 Pinemont in Houston.

The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts will sponsor a classical music concert with some of the best violinists in the nation. This classical music performance will take place on December 31, 2018 at 9 p.m. Adam LaMotte and Ars Lyrica will both bring in the New Years with classical musical performances that are guaranteed to satisfy traditional music lovers. The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts is located at 800 Bagby in Houston.

These events are just some of the many activities that families can do in Houston during New Year’s Eve. Families should plan ahead to figure out which event they would like to experience because they will not be able to attend them all. Once parents decide on a place to visit they should get out to the venue as early as possible so they can fully enjoy the activities.
