Celebrating Cinco de Mayo in Dallas

Cinco de Mayo is a yearly holiday that celebrates the date of the Mexican army’s victory at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. This year’s Cinco de Mayo falls on Thursday. Although it is a minor holiday in Mexico, in the U.S., this day has progressed into a commemoration of Mexican customs and traditions, specifically in regions with large Mexican-American populations. Most people celebrate with parades, traditional dances, Mariachis, delicious food, and drinks. This year there will be events starting the weekend of May 5 and running till the following weekend so that you can enjoy some great Mexican food all week long.
