Our Summer Jobs at Kidventure Austin Locations:

camp Director

As a director, you run the show at each site. You are a role model and supervisor for counselors and set an example through your every word and action. You will make sure counselors have everything they need to lead activities and hold everyone at camp (including yourself) to high standards. We are about creating the ultimate environment where kids can just be kids, and we need great directors to do that!

Responsibilities include:

  • Administer program curriculum and create daily camp schedules
  • Manage 3-12 day camp counselors including scheduling work shifts and completing performance evaluations
  • Communicate with parents
  • Lead a team of counselors to create the magic of summer camp
  • Direct the set-up and clean-up of camp
  • Maintain and run a safe camp environment including the responsibility for up to 50 campers
  • Understand that you are making a difference in the lives of kids

Position Qualifications:

  • 18 or older
  • Love working with kids and have at least 2 years of experience with kids/camps
  • Ability to think on your feet and adapt to the quick-pace camp environment
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, adept problem-solver
  • Positive and team-oriented person
  • Supervision/management experience is a plus, but not required
  • Available Monday through Friday during the summer weeks- 45 to 50 hours per week

Camp Counselor

As a counselor, your position is the most important. You are a role model for the campers in your every action, spoken word, and the way you carry the Kidventure torch of excellence. You will be engaging with the campers and building positive relationships with them through playing games, leading activities, and holding the kids to the same high expectations we hold ourselves to. We are about creating the ultimate environment where kids can just be kids, and we need great counselors to do that.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage a group of 6-12 campers
  • Collaborate with other counselors to create the magic of summer camp
  • Administer daily set-up and clean-up of camp
  • Maintain and run a safe camp environment
  • Understand that you are making a difference in the lives of kids

Position Qualifications:

  • 18 or older
  • Love working with kids, and experience with kids/camps is preferred
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Available Monday through Friday during the summer weeks- 40 to 45 hours per week
  • Sub positions available for varied schedules

Adventure Krew

The Adventure Krew leads and facilitates Archery Tag and/or Team Building activities at our various sites. These team members are trained to lead both activities but will specialize in one.

Archery Tag is a dodgeball-like game using bows and cushioned arrows. The Adventure Krew member leading Archery Tag will be responsible for ensuring the safety of campers, transporting, setting up, and maintaining the equipment, and running the activity at each camp location.

Team Building is a series of elements and activities facilitated by a specialist in order to build teamwork, communication, and perseverance, among other skills. Team Building specialists will travel to each site to lead activities using equipment located at each site. They are responsible for camper safety, facilitating the elements, and ensuring campers develop the team-building skills and goals set for them.

Position Qualifications:

  • 18 or older
  • Love working with kids, and experience with kids/camps is preferred
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Available Monday through Friday during the summer weeks- 15 to 25 hours per week
  • This is a part-time position.
