Where to Celebrate the 4th of July in Dallas

From live music to parades and fireworks, Dallas will have many ways to celebrate July 4 this year. Fair Park Fourth

Fair Park Fourth is back to Fair Park on July 4, featuring hands-on activities for children, live music, entertainment, local market sellers, food trucks, and other concession offerings. You may watch patriotic performances and “dancing water” shows at the Esplanade Fountain. Watch the fireworks display from inside the Cotton Bowl or across Fair Park. Park Cities 4th of July Parade

Join this decades-old neighborhood parade sponsored by the Park Cities Rotary Club. At 9 am, the parade will start at Euclid Avenue near Highland Park Town Hall. The parade travels up Preston Road and then heads east on University Blvd to Goar Park, situated just west of University Park City Hall. The festival goes from around 9:30 am to 1 pm. IndepenDANCE

This traditional neighborhood parade winds through Lakewood and ends at Winstead and Tokolan with drinks and music. The parade is 10 am – 1 pm with a theme: IndepenDANCE. You may also participate in their Fun Run (-1. 2 miles). The competition begins at 8 am and has a $10 entrance fee.  lakewoodparade.com

Independence Day Weekend at the Arboretum

The Arboretum has you covered with 4th of July festivities all weekend long. Enjoy live music, the Singing Zoologist, bird shows, brownie sundaes, hot dogs, and root beer floats. This 4th of July event is a perfect spot for a summer picnic with your whole family or even friends. Delight in their $2 hot dogs and root beer floats all weekend. They have many family fun weekend activities, including face painting, a petting zoo, and much more. The first 100 guests will receive a free American flag as they enter the garden. Head out to Old City Park on the 4th of July and enjoy a family-friendly event! There will be many fun-filled family activities such as Kona Ice, face painting, wet and dry slides, and a train. Also, don’t forget to deck out your trikes, bikes, or scooters in patriotic flair for the All-Join-In Parade down Main Street. Tickets from $10. Kids 4 and below are free. oldcityparkdallas.org

Red, White, & Groove starring The Old 97’s

Be part of an epic 4th of July celebration at the AT&T Discovery District in downtown Dallas. The party starts at 4 pm, featuring Summer Dean & Matt Hillyer performances, then Nikki Lane and Devon Gilfillian. There will also be yard games and delicious food and drink specials.
