Local Libraries

First on our list is a trip to the library. Houston has several excellent libraries, and you are sure to find whatever it is you might want to see there. There is nothing better than spending the cold day inside, in the warmth, and getting lost in a good book. If you have young children, you can inquire about various library activities. Many libraries host fun events or plan activities that your children will have a blast with.

Children’s Museum of Houston

Children of all ages can enjoy over 90,00 square feet of interactive, hands-on exhibits. The kids are sure to stay busy and entertained with the 14 different exhibits available. From exploring a pint-sized city, an area for kids to see how scientists work, to another for kids to climb and burn off that extra energy, this Texas-sized museum is a great spot to spend the whole day.

Visit the Galleria

The Galleria is another fun and exciting place to check out on a rainy day! It is one of the largest malls in the state of Texas, with an ice skating rink and is home to “The Little Galleria,” which is a 2,000 square-foot miniature mall made out of foam slides and a lot of climbing structures. This is sure to keep the kids entertained for hours. Then take a break and grab something to eat at the food court and watch the ice skaters skating on ICE at The Galleria.

Explore the Aquarium

Houston has its downtown aquarium that is a must-see 7 1/2 acre property full of excitement! They host over two hundred aquatic animals, and you can experience them all and enjoy watching the different animals being trained. Not only do you get to enjoy the fun, underwater atmosphere, a train ride, carnival games, and rides, but the aquarium also has an underwater restaurant.

Dave & Busters

Dave & Busters is another fun, indoor hot-spot! This place is all about fun, and you’ll feel it the moment you walk in. Here you can find a wide variety of games to play, music to dance to, and prizes to win. It also has a restaurant full of delicious goodies that the whole family will enjoy.

Space Center

The Space Center in Houston is another one of the city’s unique gems. You won’t find an indoor activity like this anywhere else. Here, you can enjoy science shows, see replicas of spaceships, learn all about NASA and space, and even have lunch with an astronaut!

Houston Museums

Armadilla Lanes

Sky Sports Trampoline Park

Sky Sports is an indoor trampoline park. If you’re looking for something unique and different, then this is your place! After you work up an appetite from all the jumping and running around, head over to the food court and grab a snack and take a break in the lounge area that has a few tv screens.

iT’Z

Last but certainly not least is iT’Z Pasadena. This place is practically magic for young kids! It has everything from arcade games, bumper cars, laser tag, and even bowling. It also has a restaurant attached so you can enjoy some yummy eats.
