Audrey was born and raised in Tampa but decided to trade in palm trees and beach days for cacti and lakes when she moved to Austin after college. Audrey has degrees in Political Science and English from the University of Florida, but her most transformative college experience occurred here in Austin at the University of Texas when she obtained her Master’s in Education with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction. From there, Audrey had a diverse experience as an educator, first teaching ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) to 9th and 10th grade students who were brand new to the country, then serving as the ESOL Coordinator for a large high school in the Austin area, and finally teaching 8th grade English. It was right after graduation in 2015, though, that this newly-minted Texas Ex got the job of a lifetime—her first summer role with Kidventure. Five summers later, Audrey is thrilled to join the Kidventure family year-round as the Austin Camps Coordinator. In her new role Audrey oversees the Austin day camps as well as KV’s overnight camps in the Hill Country. When Audrey isn’t at camp, you’ll find her all over the state of Texas exploring small town sites or trying to visit every U.S. state (next stop, Minnesota!). Audrey loves swimming, hiking with her four year old dogs Annabelle (yellow Labrador) and Harper (Blue Heeler/Border Collie mix), going on adventures, and reading. Currently Audrey is on a journey to read the collected works of Agatha Christie, and is almost done reading the author’s 84 novels and 151 short stories.
