WE’VE GOT ANSWERS
There is a lot of things to think about when sending your child to camp. Luckily we’ve spent 27 years working to create a camp environment that is purposeful, rewarding, and safe for every child. Still, there are common questions about camp. Below are some questions that are asked a lot with our ‘answers’. However, you can always contact us if you need additional support.

DOES MY CAMPER NEED TO WEAR A CAMP SHIRT?
Each Kidventure camper will receive one free shirt on their first day of camp for the summer as part of their welcome packet. That free shirt is the ‘Official Shirt’. The color of the shirts corresponds to the color of their program (blue for Discoverers, red for Explorers, and navy for LEADS). All campers are required to wear a ‘camp shirt’ each day to camp. Any of our shirts may be worn. Shirts may be ordered at the time of registration as an option until May 1. After that time additional shirts may be purchased at your campsite.

OFFICIAL SHIRT
Blue shirt is for Discovers and Red Shirt is for Explorers. Additional may be purchased.

“CAPTAIN KV”

“LADY LIGHTNING”

WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS OF THE CAMP STAFF?
The most important part of your child’s camp experience is their camp counselors and directors. We pride ourselves on having the highest standards and requirements for camp staff anywhere. Here are a few of those qualifications:
- All Adult Team
- Everyone is First Aid and CPR Cert.
- Everyone has National Background Check (Yearly)
- Everyone is in uniform
- Everyone has extensive training in safety, special needs, behavior management
- Most of our staff are Certified Teachers or Education Students or Coaches

CAN MY CHILD BRING HIS ELECTRONIC DEVICE TO CAMP?
Kidventure is proud to operate device-free campsites. All cell phones must be kept off and put away in a bag, or preferably, left at home! Campers are permitted to wear smartwatches for non-communication (text or call) purposes only. Campers who use technology without permission will have the option of putting the device in a personal bag or handing it over for safe storage with the Camp Director. Please note that if you choose to send technology with your camper, Kidventure is not responsible for its safekeeping unless it is handed directly to the Camp Director.
WILL MY CHILD NEED TO WEAR A MASK AT CAMP?
At this time, the answer is YES for both Campers & Staff. Kidventure will follow the guidance of our Medical Professionals, the CDC, and our Camp Licensing. When the guidance from our professionals determines it is safe to take off masks, we will do so (and throw a big camp party). Masks will be required for all Explorers (entering 1st-5th grade) and Leads (entering 6th-9th grade). It is highly encouraged for Discoverers to bring and wear a mask, however, it is not mandatory. Masks will be dropped when social distancing is possible for lunch, outdoors, and other predetermined breaks. The safety of your family and our staff will always be paramount.
ARE CAMP ACTIVITIES THE SAME EACH WEEK?
Variety is the spice! Each week is a unique adventure! We take pride in the variety of curriculum-based activities our kids take part in over the summer. Each week campers will experience unique projects, art, athletic events. There are certain activities like swimming at certain sites, and other games that our campers love that will repeat. For more information on our Four Cornerstones Curriculum, visit our Parent Handbook
ARE THERE GOING TO BE FIELD TRIPS THIS SUMMER?
As of now, on March 24, 2021, we are not having field trips. Rather we will be bringing in a variety of events and special guests each week to augment that part of our program. As we move closer to the summer and gain a better perspective on the virus and advice from our medical professionals, that may change. We will continue to communicate with you.
IF YOU HAVE SWIMMING, HOW DO YOU SWIM CAMPERS?
Where we have pools and swim programs, we have systems and protocols set in place to do so safely. We assume no child knows how to swim. The first day of swimming each week will involve a swim test for each camper. Lifeguards are placed in addition to the camp staff, and campers swim in small groups as part of larger rotations.
