*On your child’s first camp day of the summer, please accompany them into camp for drop-off. You may drop off in the carpool lane without leaving your vehicle for the rest of the summer. A counselor will escort your child into camp. Note that if you are attending multiple locations, your child must be escorted into camp on their first day at each location.
Late Pick-Up Fee: Kidventure charges a late fee of $1 per minute per child for children picked up after 6:00 pm. If your camper is picked up after 3:45 and is not enrolled in Post Camp, you will be charged $1 per minute remaining after 3:45, or $30 for Post Camp for the week (whichever costs less).
Our Houston & Austin campers may bring a lunch each day or participate in our lunch program catered by Healthy Lunch Box in Houston and Java Dive in Austin. The cost for daily lunches is $35.50/week and may not be broken into individual days. It provides a nutritious and great-tasting alternative to sack lunches. Chicken tender Friday (Houston) or Pizza Friday (Austin) is included in the lunch program. No substitutions to the menu are available. Daily lunches must be purchased by noon on the Friday before your camp session begins.
You may also choose to purchase chicken tender/pizza Friday a la carte. The cost for chicken tender/pizza Friday is $7.25. The meal includes chicken breast strips served with mashed potatoes (gravy on the side), green beans, roll, and juice,(Houston) or a cheese pizza served with veggies, dessert and juice, (Austin) and must be purchased and paid for by Wednesday at noon to ensure your camper receives a meal on Friday.
Kidventure also provides snack and drink to our campers each day. All snacks are peanut and peanut byproduct free.
The Official Kidventure T-Shirt must be worn at all times during camp. Every camper will be given two free camp shirts with their initial registration, and additional shirts can be purchased for $15 each from your Kidventure account or from Kidventure staff at your child’s campsite.
Campers should dress for active play each day. Your child should bring or wear the following items to camp:
- Comfortable shorts
- Athletic shoes and socks – no flip-flops or Crocs, please!
- Water bottle
- Hat or cap
- Sunscreen – please apply to your child’s face and exposed areas prior to camp, and we will reapply throughout the day as needed
- Lunch, if bringing your own
- Backpack to keep belongings together
- Other items indicated in your weekly newsletter, such as a swimsuit
Please label everything.
Please keep toys or electronics such as iPods, cell phones, and handheld gaming devices at home.
Our field trips are for Explorers and Leads only. Discoverers do not take field trips, and will remain at camp throughout each camp day. We use luxury tour buses equipped with air conditioning and restrooms (and sometimes TVs!) for all field trips.
Each week, the KV Team will present each camper with an award. These awards are given out on Fridays for honors such as being respectful, showing great camp spirit and helping others. This is a big deal at camp, so look for any ribbons and awards your child might come home with and be sure to congratulate them!

Health and Medical Information
If your child will be taking medications of any kind* during camp hours, you must fill out a Medical Dosage Form This includes over-the-counter medications such as Tylenol, Benadryl and vitamins. This form must be turned in to the Camp Director with the medication in its original container on the first Monday your child attends camp. All medications will be dispensed by the Camp Director per the label and your instructions.
Medications abandoned at camp will be disposed of if not claimed in a reasonable amount of time.
*Kidventure does not administer shots. If your child needs medication or insulin injections while at camp, you or another authorized party must come to camp to administer them when needed. We will aid in checking blood levels with retractable needles.
From time to time, children may become ill at camp. Every campsite has a designated First Aid/Sick Station, where the camper will be isolated from other campers and allowed to rest. We will notify you if your child is sick, and in some cases may ask you to pick your child up from camp.
Please call the Kidventure office if you need to contact your child’s campsite. We will assist you in relaying any messages or answering any questions. We cannot provide you with a direct number to your child’s campsite.
You will be emailed a Camp Newsletter the Thursday before each camp week your child is attending. It contains an agenda for the week, field trip info, important things to bring, upcoming events and other camp information. Please review it before the camp week begins!
In the event of severe weather or any other potentially threatening situations, we will make every effort to notify you immediately regarding your child’s safety. Please make sure all of your contact information is up-to-date. If camp closure becomes necessary, we will announce all closures on local television and radio and contact you by email and/or phone. If you have any questions, please contact your Kidventure office directly. We reserve the right to cancel any day(s) of camp due to inclement weather or any other situation which might compromise the safety of our campers, their families, or our staff. We do not issue refunds for cancellations due to these circumstances.
