Details of Finale

What is Kidventure’s After School Program?

Kidventure has provided after school programs for over 9 years! Patterned after our summer camp program, the Finale After School Program provides a safe, wholesome, and fun environment during the school year. Curriculum will include homework time, arts and crafts, science, as well as indoor/outdoor games.

Finale Staff

The most important part of your child’s after school experience is our staff. Kidventure prides itself on selecting experience, active and caring individuals for its programs. All counselors are First Aid and CPR trained, Virtus (sexual abuse awareness) certified, have undergone extensive background checks, and wear the Finale uniform. In addition to our counselors that are counted in ratio (1 counselor per 10 children, for 1st-8th grade and 1:8 for early childhood) we have a lead counselor that maintains day to day operations on site. We also have an After School Program Coordinator that is responsible for creating the program curriculum, ensuring that all supplies are on site and ultimately responsible for the successful operation of Finale. Our staff is committed to your children and encourages you to offer your comments, compliments and suggestions.

How Do I Contact After School Staff?

You may call the Kidventure After School Coordinator at 832-967-7517 who can then relay any needed information to the after school staff.

And introducing… Finale:Encore!

We are ecstatic to bring you, starting this fall, Finale:Encore! Special guests and performers will join us (on dates TBA) for instructor-led group activities such as martial arts and dance, as well as unique presentations and cultural and educational activities. Please stay tuned to the Finale website for an up-to-date calendar of Finale:Encore! events. These events will take place during normal Finale hours.

Parent Visitation

Parents are welcome to visit the Finale program at any time during normal hours without prior notice or approval to observe their child, observe the operation and/or program activities.

Discipline and Conduct

We understand that children are tired after a long day of school, but the same courtesy and respect practiced throughout the day should remain consistent in the After School Program. Kidventure’s disciplinary action is a three strike system, which is age appropriate.
Strike 1. Warning, Explanation of Possible Consequence
Strike 2. Consequence (Time out of 1 minute per age, sentences, sit out of activity, etc.), Explanation of parent call if rule broken again
Strike 3. Call Home
We work closely with the school and principle on needed discipline and conduct issues, in order to coordinate and universally enforce the same standards and expectations to all students.

Medication

If your child will be taking medications of any kind during Finale, a medical dosage form must be filed out. the form must be turned into the lead counselor on site with the medication in its original container before medication will be dispensed.

All medications will be dispensed by the lead counselor per Doctor’s / Your instructions. this includes over the counter and as needed medications such as Tylenol and Benadryl. Medical dosage forms will be made available upon request. Please contact the Kidventure Office for more information: 713-960-8989.

Monthly Communications

In order to better communicate with you about your child’s activities at Finale, we have created a newsletter that will be sent out every month via email. It contains information about what we will be doing for the month, special notes, changes in policies (with updated Finale Parent Handbooks attached) and other pertinent information. We will work closely with the school to get these newsletters out every month.

Emergency Procedures

In the even of a severe weather or any other potentially threatening situation, Finale will make every effort to notify you immediately regarding your child(ren)‘s safety. Please make sure all contact information is correct and up to date. If cancellation of the Final program for the afternoon is necessary, we will announce any cancellations in conjunction with the school via email. Should you have any questions, please contact the office directly at 713-960-8989.

Sick Children at Finale

From time to time, children may become ill or do not feel well. At Finale we have a designated First Aid/Sick Station where the sick child will be isolated from the other children and allowed to rest. If you child is sick, we will notify you and in some cases we will as you to pick up your child.

Medical Emergencies

All our staff are First Aid/CPR certified and will follow appropriate protocol according to the Kidventure Emergency Operations Plan and their First Aid/CPR Certifications. Parents will be notified by phone immediately of major medical incidents. Minor injuries and incidents will be communicated to parents either by phone or upon pick up.
