A Brief History

Kidventure Camps was born in West Houston in 1994. Soon Kidventure had brought its style of camps to several facilities in the Houston area. In addition to the day camps, Kidventure had also developed Safari, its overnight summer camp located in Hunt, Texas.

With several Day Camps and its Overnight Camp, Kidventure began to serve families from all over the Houston area, Texas, and beyond. In 1999 Kidventure began to offer customized summer camps for corporations. These corporate camps addressed the crucial need for convenient summer care for the children of working professionals. Parents could now drive to work with their children, place them in the hands of Kidventure, and drive home with them at the end of the work day. Today Kidventure provides this camp for several companies in Houston.

This past summer of 2008, Kidventure served over 5000 children including new summer camps in Austin. Three day camps served the Austin area including Camp Cedar Creek and Camp Bee Cave in the EANES ISD and Camp St. Thomas More in the Northwest area. And although we have grown to serve more and more families each year, we have never lost sight of our highest quality and commitment to the individual child and family. In fact, we believe we are positioned to provide even better programming, better staff and training, and more options for the families of the 21st century.

Kidventure is a partnership. One that includes parents, our team, host facilities, and most importantly our children. Together we continue to share ideas, offer suggestions, gain insight and work united to provide the absolute best for the future…our kids.

By far, the most important part of your child’s experience with us is Our Kidventure Team. This group of over 120 individuals has come together to perform the most important endeavor, helping grow children. We hire the best, we commit the most resources to our team and the results have been powerful. We are about people, we are about placing talented, committed, caring and intelligent role models with your children.

The difference between Kidventure and any other program, is the extent of emphasis we place on our team. Forget everything else, without caring, mature people serving as counselors, directors, support staff and specialists, there is no program. We are privileged to be a part of the lives of so many.
